Located in the basement of Old Granada Studios (once the home of Coronation Street's cobbles), Project Halcyon Distillery is a slick industrial bar putting an emphasis on 1920s speakeasy style, modern jazz-hop and cool concoctions. Spirits experts Zymurgorium have transformed the lower level of The Bonded Warehouse into a luxe drinking den, with steel piping adjacent to a velvet bar and plush leather high stools.

As well as using the company's own blends, this watering hole creates muddles from little-known brands (including a navy-strength take on the martini), alongside having cocktail masterclasses, distillation courses and exclusive tasting sessions across the calendar too. And those aren't the only tricks this sexy space has up its sleeve. You can also hire out 'Salon Vert', the on-site absinthe parlour, which comes complete with flowing fountains of the stuff.
