Mowgli Corn Exchange

An authentic Indian restaurant that you can bring your dog along to? Sign us up. You'll find Mowgli in the Corn Exchange, flaunting stunning interiors that includes glowing fairy lights and rope swing seating.

They've been serving the area since 2015, and their other venues have gained quite a reputation across the country too. As for the menu, expect the likes of tea-steeped chickpeas, green chilli prawn curry, gunpowder chicken and much more.

Gaucho Manchester

Found inside a stunning converted church on St Mary's Street, featuring an original church organ and split-level restaurant dining with a mezzanine, Gaucho is the home of Argentinian steak. The brand has 30 years of experience in quality steaks, with beef coming from premium Black-Angus cattle bred on select farms and grazed on seventeen different types of grass across the Pampas provinces.

Your four-legged best friend can accompany you for lunch or dinner here. While they must stay on a lead and on the floor, the only rule about food is that they don't eat from the restaurant's cutlery and crockery - nothing about slipping them a piece of steak or two under the table.

The Anthologist, St Peter Square

Located in the heart of Manchester's St Peter's Square, The Anthologist is a stylish and welcoming venue that effortlessly combines modern dining with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Known for its vibrant setting and exceptional menu, it offers a diverse range of dishes, from fresh seasonal fare to expertly crafted cocktails, all served with flair.

But what really sets The Anthologist apart is its dog-friendly policy, making it the perfect spot for you and your furry friend to enjoy a day out together. Whether you're lounging on the spacious terrace with your pup by your side or enjoying a cosy indoor meal, this spot offers a warm welcome to both two-legged and four-legged guests alike.

The Botanist, Media City

Happy hour

After dog-friendly restaurants in Salford? A perfect stop-off following a waterside walk through the surrounding bays and basins, The Botanist is welcoming all two and four-legged customers to their outdoor terrace.

Humans can dine on the likes of the restaurant's famous hanging kebabs, pub classics and Sunday roasts like honey-glazed slow-roasted pork belly, with a botanical-heavy cocktail list to wash it all down. Kids can also enjoy a mini version of The Botanist's mains, so all the family can come along.

Bab NQ

£10 Lunch Express and 2 other offers

Located in the Northern Quarter, Bab NQ is an independent restaurant that whips up a range of Greek and Middle Eastern-inspired dishes from their open kitchen. Expect simple, welcoming interiors like white brick walls and wooden tables, with a great atmosphere guaranteed.

Their mouthwatering menu has got something for everyone, even the dog, including mezze sharers, moussaka and a wide variety of kebabs filled with everything from spiced pulled pork to grilled halloumi.

The Counter House

With living walls, table tops made from recycled yoghurt pots and a modern-industrial feel, The Counter House is very typically Ancoats in its feel - and dog-friendly to boot. While perhaps best known as a place to spend your Sunday snacking on small plates or devouring a roast, there's something for you and your pooch every day of the week.

The neighbourhood restaurant bar serves comfort food, with a penchant for 'health inspired dishes', spanning huevos rancheros and Californian hash for brunch and Thai curries or pan-fried salmon at dinner.

Rudy's Peter Street

When it comes to dog-friendly restaurants in Manchester city centre, Rudy's - with Peter Street, Portland Street and Ancoats locations - should fit the bill. The brand itself is even named after the founder's dog, so you know you're in good hands here.

These guys have truly mastered Neapolitan pizza and gone from strength to strength over the years, expanding to Altrincham, Chorlton, Sale, Didsbury, and Prestwich. They use traditional methods to make fresh dough every day from 00 Caputo flour, double fermented over 24 hours for the perfect base. Top ingredients from Naples, like San Marzano tomatoes grown at the foot of Mount Vesuvius and the super creamy Fior di Latte mozzarella, continue the authenticity.

Federal, Deansgate

These dog-friendly places in Manchester city centre are renowned for their Aussie brunches. Yes, it can only be the ever-famous Federal. Whether you pick the Deansgate, Northern Quarter or Oxford Road joint, expect a walk-ins only policy and an all-day brunch menu.

We'd recommend whatever seasonal flavour of French toast they've got on their list for the ultimate, indulgent sweet treat, or the cheddar sweetcorn fritters with sweet chilli, cucumber sop and lime sour cream if you fancy something savoury. Accompany your dish with a twist on a classic cocktail (hazelnut espresso martinis, anyone?), which are always 2 for £12.

Volta

Our favourite of dog-friendly restaurants in Didsbury? Volta is a European small plates restaurant on Burton Road, West Didsbury, and a favourite with locals and people across Manchester alike.

There's a heated outdoor terrace, as well as a bistro-inspired space inside. Dishes include deep-fried Driftwood goat's cheese with pickled beetroot and honey, tender Iberico pork, and pan-fried Queenie scallops in chermoula butter - although it's the hispi cabbage in miso butter, served with black garlic and sesame, that really has to be eaten to be believed. In the city centre, you'll find opulent Kimpton Clocktower Hotel favourite and sister restaurant Refuge, which is also dog-friendly.

Albert's Schloss - Manchester

Après-Work

Our list wouldn't be complete without alpine restaurant and bier hall, Albert's Schloss. This Peter Street staple might be all party and live entertainment in the evenings, but in the daytime, you and your pooch get the five-star treatment.

Oozing stuffed croissants are on the cards at breakfast, while Swiss cheese fondue, schnitzels, mushroom spätzle (Swabian pasta with sautéed mushrooms, crème fraiche, truffle and parmesan) are just some highlights of the all-day menu. And on Sundays? Tasty roasts with a twist.

Trof Northern Quarter

Popular among after-work drinkers and groups of friends, Trof in the Northern Quarter is a three-storey bar and restaurant where your dog can join in on the party as well. They serve a cracking selection of beer, wine and cocktails, as well as their own branded drinks that are very affordable.

Whether you're in the rustic wooden interiors or out on the terrace, you can enjoy the likes of double smash cheeseburgers, fish and chips or cheese and onion pasties from their 'proper food' menu.

Elnecot

Near Ancoat's Cutting Room Square, you'll find Elnecot; a neighbourhood gem with a focus on the seasonal and (often) pickled. British grub and wine are their speciality, as is welcoming all the family by being dog-friendly.

Brunches like beef rendang benedict and crispy pork belly with hash browns, savoy kimchi and fried eggs hit the mark, while five different kinds of Sunday roasts each have a recommended wine pairing on the menu - saving you the faff of choosing your own. And for the rest of the week? Welsh Wagyu cheeseburgers and evening small plates spanning sticky lamb ribs, beetroot-cured Chalk Stream trout, piri piri prawns, and carrots three-ways topped with goat's cheese.

Canto

Canto is a Mediterranean tapas restaurant with a Portuguese leaning, from the same team as the Michelin Guide-featured El Gato Negro. Found in Ancoats, it's inspired by owner Simon Shaw's travels to Lisbon and even welcomes your dog too.

As well as weekend tipsy tapas sessions that come with 90 minutes of unlimited drinks, there's a main menu offering the likes of tenderstem broccoli with Ajada (chilli, garlic and smoked paprika), grilled salted cod with spinach and piri piri sauce, spiced lamb merguez meatballs in fritada sauce and more.
