If you've always wanted to give competitive baking a go, and jumping into a marquee to whisk your way to winning baker would be just your thing, then get The Big Bakes on your radar. The award-winning brand, known for events in Birmingham, East London and South London, opens The Big Manchester Bake in Salford this October.
Finding that 'serious' cookery schools didn't offer the fun, competitive group baking sessions that kept things light (just like your sponge, hopefully), co-founders Adam Chaudhri and Eloise Frank took the plunge into entrepreneurship - swapping careers in aviation for a new business venture offering exactly what they couldn't find. So in 2017, the first Big Bakes venue was born.
The equipment? Provided. The boring prep work like weighing out ingredients? They're way ahead of you. All you need to do is turn up with your baking buddy and get ready for 90 minutes of fun, with one lucky pair named the winners after judging. You'll be following a new theme every month too, so return visits are just as rewarding.
The Big Manchester Bake launches Friday 11th October 2024 on Stanley Street, Salford M3 5JL. Tickets are on sale now and start at £44.90 per person.
