For three nights this June, Manchester will be swapping rain for Rioja as Campo Viejo (the UK’s favourite vino tinto) hosts an immersive food and drink experience. Guests will tuck themselves into a table at Casa Campo Viejo - a concept born off the back of the popular wine which was created in the Rioja region of Spain in 1964. A trio of entrepreneurs going by the names of Juan Alcorta, Jose Ortiguela and Jose Bezares created the wine with dreams of making a drink that would bring friends and family together around the dinner table over food and laughter. It seems they hit the nail directly on the head.
Casa Campo Viejo will see popular city centre venue, The Loft, transformed into ‘a little slice of Spain’ for three days as heritage and tradition come to life in a refreshing and modern way. Designed to rouse the senses and expose guests to the rich way of Rioja life, the event will showcase a bespoke, five-course, Michelin-starred meal, cooked by acclaimed Spanish chef Xabi Bonilla, and all paired with Campo Viejo wines (of course). There will also be a unique wine blending session in which guests will concoct their own personal blend to sip at home.
Casa Campo Viejo will be taking place Thursday 21st June - Saturday 23rd June 2018 at The Loft, 13 Quay Street, Manchester, M3 3HN.
