With around 1.5 million people tuning in to their last broadcast, it’s no surprise that The Hacienda have once again teamed up with United We Stream to create another stay-at-home house party - lord knows we all need a good time right now.
Expect entertainment for your May bank holiday weekend to be sorted with another 12 hours of music broadcast straight to your living room. Although the line-up hasn’t been announced yet, we saw a truly awesome line-up last time with sets from American house legends like David Morales, Toddy Terry, Roger Sanchez and Roy Davis Jr.
Not only is this rave a great way to do something a little bit different from the comfort of your own home, it’s also a pretty decent way to support Manchester’s local economy. Taking place on the 9th May, keep your eyes glued to their Facebook page for full details of the line-up as well as how to grab tickets.
United We Stream originally started in Berlin and was brought over to Manchester upon request from the city’s night time economic adviser, Sacha Lord. It’s raised more than £700,000 since mid-March, with 70% of the cash going into a relief fund reserved for music venues, restaurants, bars and freelancers hit hard by the lockdown. As if that weren’t enough, a further 8% goes to the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Charity. The last 22% you ask? All to the Mayor of Greater Manchester’s Charity.
