Manchester’s annual Irish extravaganza returns again this March taking over Manchester's nightlife. Featuring 200 events at 80 diverse venues in and around the city, it marks Europe’s biggest Irish festival outside of the Emerald Isle itself. Spanning over 10 action-packed days the festival is expected to attract over 200,000 visitors.
Highlights include The Albert Square Irish Festival market that runs from March 8th to the festival’s closing night. Exciting performances include traditional Irish folk bands, The Dubliners, Clannad and a special headline performance from breakthrough Irish band The Script at Manchester’s M.E.N arena. From Friday 15th March to Sunday 17th March the city centre will run wild with a party of a 100,000 people dancing, drinking and divulging into the heart of Manchester's city centre and coinciding with St Patricks Day 2013.
Manchester Irish Festival is going to be a whole heap of fun, so don't miss out!
A whole host of venues in Manchester will be getting involved in the Irish shenanigans with great Irish pubs like Waxy O'Connors, O'Sheas Irish Bar and The Shamrock as well as other great venues such as the Frog & Bucket Comedy Club getting in on the act!
Further adrift from the city centre, Manchester’s suburbs will add an unconventional take on the festival with Levenshulme’s own The Union Inn staging a free darts competition and The Horseshoe presenting an Irish quiz both on March 14. Whatever day you decide to embrace Manchester’s Irish Festival one thing is guaranteed, there is plenty of fun to be found.
