They closed, they opened. They opened, they closed. The on-going soap opera that is one of Manchester's most beloved clubs continues.
After the final closure in May and a series of incredible last parties, goodbyes and mammoth DJ sets, we thought that might be it for the Ancoats Club. With seemingly bigger fish to fry overseas in Ibiza and now New York, owner Dave Vincent shut down the flagship club and moved on to greener pastures.
It's often thought that history repeats itself, and for Sankeys Manchester that is most certainly the case, having opened and shut more times in the last ten years than Andrew Weatherall's record bag. Well history books aside, they're back and much sooner than expected, too. Talk on the town was January, then February was branded about by the rumour mill, but today they have just officially announced that Friday 20th December 2013, Sankeys Manchester will rise from the ashes and re-open it's doors to the loyal Manchester crowds.
An entire opening weekend is planned with some incredible guests, residents and friends taking to the decks to ensure Sankeys is welcomed back the only way they know how, by throwing the mother of all opening parties. Another twist to the tale of Sankeys and one that will effect the Manchester clubbing landscape as a whole, but you can be sure it's a twist that will be welcomed with open arms.
