Since their launch in the summer of last year, Tast have amassed a cult following in Manchester for their Catalan cuisine served traditionally on tastets, from five-time Michelin starred executive chef, Chef Paco Pérez. Now, the smart spot is going even more high-end as they open Enxaneta, a new fine-dining experience just above the main restaurant, which will focus on two set menus boasting luxury ingredients such as wagyu, sea urchin and mini mussels with saffron.
Inspired by the human towers of Catalonia, the experience brings to life all aspects of Chef Pérez’s native region, exploring vibrant tastes from the city to forests, sea and mountains by using seasonal produce and premium food pairings. Named after how Catalans count, Tres de Deu (Three of Ten) consists of ten courses for £95 and Tres de Quinze (Three of Fifteen) is made up of 15 courses for £135. Both of the ambitious offers include small plates of tuna and sea urchin, wagyu in two steps, artichoke and black truffle rice, and winter Torrija. The Tres De Quinze is embellished further with the addition of sea cucumber carbonara, langoustine cannelone and mini mussels with saffron.
While it may not be the most affordable night out, the finest quality is guaranteed, and with up to 15 courses on the cards, you know you won’t be left hungry. Just make sure to set aside a few hours if you’re going to experience the full shebang.
Enxaneta will be open Wednesday to Sunday for dinner service between 6pm and 9pm. The dining area is located above Tast, 20 - 22 King Street, Manchester M2 6AG.
