Having worked its way down from Scotland's rustic beau, Edinburgh, then stopping off in the land of Leeds, Cocktails in the City is about to rock up to Manchester. Laced with the finest liquors, bound with the finest bartenders and armed with everything from eats to beats this travelling venture is the ultimate drinking experience for all you spirit lusting folk out there.
So, the set up goes a little something like this: 20 bars, live mixology masterclasses, top notch DJ talent, a street food market and copious amounts of booze all shacked up together at the Great Northern Warehouse. Sound like something you're up for? Obviously. With some of the City's most bespoke bars and plush drinking establishments plucked specially for their skills behind the bar when it comes to sloshing spirits together, you can expect to see everything from underground haunts, to Northern Quarter nooks and exquisite eateries behind some of the craft going down here.
Each bar brings a specific tipple to the table, and the magic goes from there. Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey - whatever your poison there's a custom crafted libation waiting for you. Champions of 1920s charm, The Fitzgerald will be knocking up Chambord based sensations with the likes of the mighty cleavers of meat, Hawksmoor bringing Appleton Estate Rum VX to their table. The cocktail scientists at The Alchemist come with Gentleman Jack in tow, the rough and ready Cane & Grain crew have Old Forester and Mr Cooper's House & Garden are all about Portobello Road Gin.
This will be a space to truly explore the realm of cocktail mixology, with a little help from those best in the business whipping up some signature concoctions. Whilst we love to encourage the hard core spirit sessions, there's always room for food and certainly when the boys from Friday Food Fight are in the building. That's right, get messy and chow down on the prime street food talent of Yakumama, Red's True BBQ and Vietshack.
Cocktails in the City will run over May 14th-15th from 6pm until 11pm at Great Northern Warehouse, M3 4EN. Tickets are priced at £10 per day.
