Cocktails in the City, the country's hottest drinks event, is coming back to Manchester for its fifth year on Friday 12 May. Manchester is known for having quite the drinking scene, so why bother going to a silly cocktail event? That's why we came up some of the best reasons why you have to grab a ticket to Cocktails In The City this year.
24 of Manchester's best bars coexist for a night
It can be hard to pick which Manchester bar you want to try, but Cocktails in the City is meant to help alleviate that indecision, at least for the night. The very best bars from all over the city will be popping up for the event, like Cottonopolis, Arcane, Hawksmoor, The Alchemist, Hula and Tattu. Drink tokens for their signature cocktails are priced at £6.50, not bad for some of the hottest sips in the city.
You get to drink in one of the oldest television studios in the UK
How many times can you say you went for cocktails where the Beatles played their first television gig? This year's shindig is hosted at the Old Granada Studios, one of the most iconic television buildings of the 20th century. CITC occupies some of the most unique buildings around the country, and Manchester's installment is no exception to the rule.
Stimulate your senses in a one of a kind pop up
Are you afraid of the dark? If not, you're in for a treat. One of the most unique aspects of the Manchester event is a pop up of one of London's hottest bar experiences, pitch black. The idea is that instead of focusing on presentation, you're able to enjoy the cocktails' delicately created aroma, taste and mouth feeling. Enjoy a sensory experience unlike any other.
The ticket price includes A TON of cool stuff
£12? That will get you into the event, a rum punch cocktail by The Duppy Share and a second cocktail from one of the bars. That's not all! In honour of the fifth anniversary, you get a gift for coming to the party - a CITC Membership Card, which includes VIP access to cocktail preview evenings, masterclasses, tastings, food and cocktail pairings throughout the rest of the year. Happy anniversary to us.
Cocktails in the City is taking place at Old Granada Studios, Quay Street, Manchester, M3 3JE, on Fri 12 May from 18:00-23:00. Buy your tickets here.
