Winter Island Returns To Manchester With Immersive Twilight Trail And Unlimited Gravy-Covered Carveries

Freight Island is transforming into a twinkling winter pop-up.

It really is the most wonderful time of the year...

The Freight Island elves have been hard at work, working out when they'll be recrafting their venue into a sparkling winter grotto - the North's largest heated indoor and outdoor winter festival - for 2024. From 14th November to 31st December, Winter Island welcomes you and your friends to eat, drink and be merry.

Taking over Freight Island, this winter pop-up is a fun, festive event that comes heated, covered and topped off with a 45ft Christmas tree. You'll find plenty of seating, as well as a cute seasonal market complete with hot chocolates, mulled wine and cider, Formaggi by Lazy Tony's poutine and loaded roasties, and Smoking Coal German BBQ's finest bratwurts. Another the highlight of the Winter Island Manchester menu? Seconds Christmas Carvery for unlimited access to extra gravy and trimmings.

Meanwhile, the city's immersive Twilight Trail will be held across Mayfield Park's 6.5 acres again this year, with La Discothèque inviting Craig Charles to soundtrack the displays. So after experiencing the mesmerising light installations, including 'The Twist', a new laser garden and a giant boom box, why not relax with a drink at Winter Island?

The mezzanine will be transformed into a Northern Lights Lounge too, perfect for Christmas parties. You can also expect a mammoth programme of exciting activities, including wreath-making workshops, a Santa's grotto experience for the kids and more to be announced.

Winter Island is open from 14th November to 31st December 2024 at the Depot Mayfield, 11 Baring Street, Manchester M1 2PY. Looking for more yuletide inspiration? Keep up to date on all the latest in our newsletter.
