South night club in Manchester was born in 1995 and is still going strong as one of the leading and original underground music clubs. Rightly proud of their underground roots and vibe, and born as an antidote to the super clubs dominating in the 90's, music is firmly the driving force at South so don't expect anything commercial or straight forward, South does music and parties hard. With a Funktion One sound system, DJs work wonders with the speakers, playing a eclectic mash up of rock n roll to House, Disco and all other kinds of original beats.
Saturdays is the flagship night at South, with 'Clint Boon' taking over, playing rock n roll bangers, dirty House music, britp pop and a nice dollop of Northern Soul. If you are looking for an original and pure club night in Manchester then South is your ticket.
