Peacemeal

Description

A new multi-storey venue in Ancoats is aiming to help tackle homelessness through its employment initiative.

Peacemeal is the work of Factory Records founder Anthony Wilson's son, Oliver Wilson, who is teaming up with other key Manchester names to create a restaurant, late-night bar, and studio space. The ground floor will comprise of a restaurant, which uses locally sourced and seasonal ingredients to create an affordable menu, including a 'one pot' menu that's made by different guest chefs, along with bread from the onsite bakery.

At night, DJs will take over to spin their record collections with an eclectic arts line-up planned. The second floor is set aside for a studio, hosting everything from yoga classes through to meditation sessions, while the rooftop will have an urban farm, which is run by former prisoners and the homeless, to create produce for the kitchen. The venue will also work with local charities to ensure at least 1/4 of their staff are from homeless backgrounds.
