Manchester's iconic Corn Exchange is converting into a giant Pop Up bar destination from 24th - 27th October, when it hosts Manchester's first Pop Up Drinks Emporium.
For four exciting nights, the historic building - which until recently was home to a shopping mall - will welcome a mix of Manchester's bars, liquor gurus and mixologists to occupy the empty retail spaces and convert them into themed, pop-up drinking dens. Each Pop-Up bar within the Emporium will be themed and styled in a completely different way, with bars being given free reign to get as creative as they like.
The recently closed - and much missed - Socio Rehab will be recreated for one weekend only in one of the venue's most interesting spaces, as 'Socio Reborn'. The Ducie Bridge will create their own acoustic bar, while the Mark Addy's Robert Own Brown brings a Cider Festival to the emporium in the form of his own pop up venue 'The Barn Yard'. Meanwhile Kro Bar host a their own mini real ale festival. Almost Famous will also be joining the party, serving up their legendary cocktails alongside pulled pork burgers to soak up all that booze.
While each individual bar will provide drinkers with a variety of unique environments to enjoy, the building's large central space will be filled with plenty of seating for a more communal, festival style experience, presided over by XFM DJs - who'll be bringing a party atmosphere to the venue each night.
It all takes place at the end of October, offering a warm, dry alternative to trudging around in the rain on your night out. And the best bit? It's absolutely free. Just turn up and enjoy!
