What they say:
The Indian Tiffin Room offers the curry-mad people of Manchester a new, unique culinary experience, combining the vibrant spices and exuberant flavours of the Sub-Continent's best street food with the metropolitan, contemporary vibes of Central Manchester. Serving a range of dishes from all over India, the dynamic, best friend duo behind this venture hope to transport their guests to the inspiring, heat-cracked streets of Kerala. The menu includes crispy, Punjabi-style samosas, smooth, flavoursome Kerala fish curry and succulent skewers of spiced lamb kebab. Based in Manchester's new cultural hub on First Street, there's no better place to eat yourself into a food-induced coma.
What we say:
The Indian Tiffin Room has already established a name for itself as one of Manchester's most creative Indian restaurants. Working within a crowded market, the two young students in charge have achieved wonders to produce an unforgettable culinary experience full of the same tongue-tingling feelings and eye-opening spices that have come to define the entire Sub-Continent. Their chefs have definitely cracked the code. But the biggest challenge faces this team will be maintaining their high standards of delivery while simultaneously catering for a much larger number of people. Space was always the central constraint at their Cheadle-based restaurant; that certainly won't be the case here on First Street. If they can adapt to this trendy area, deal with the massive increase in eager customers and yet still continue to produce mouth-watering dishes that explode straight off the tongue, there'll definitely rise up the city's steep restaurant ladder.
