Kitten is a Japanese izakaya restaurant and cocktail bar that can be found in Deansgate on Owen Street. It's a visually stunning space flooded with natural light and sporting natural, modern interiors. Think white marble tables, leafy greens, pretty geometric tiled flooring and trees.

It's open every day from 5pm 'til 11pm, sometimes with DJ sets to accompany its open-fire cooking and delicious signature Japanese plates. The menu boasts tantalising dishes like miso hispi cabbage, truffle cauliflower and charred ribeye drizzled in unami butter, as well as uramaki rolls filled with golden roasted ruck, truffle goma and hoi sin. 

The cocktails are not to be missed either, with a short and strong by-design approach. The lychee and sake martini offers a gin-based refresher, whereas the Kyoto Funghi provides something a little different, featuring Hatozaki, St Germaine and mushroom soda.
