Description
The revival of King Street continues with the opening of a Persian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant. Taking over the spot previously occupied by Quill, Suri serves seasonal dishes with produce coming from local suppliers and an emphasis on sharing plates.
The restaurant's name is Persian and means 'red rose', a theme that continues into the rest of the venue, from the sumptuous rich decor through to flavoursome dishes. Suri is the brainchild of Andrea George, who has previous experience in the industry as an Allied London director. To help her with her first opening, she has enlisted James Coubrough, Terence Langley (Fazenda co-founder), and chef Guy Callister, who has previously worked in The Savoy and London Hilton on Park Lane.
The menu is separated into three, with choices from 'field', 'farm' and 'waves' along with a large selection of gin and tonics and cocktails. Nibbles include Persian spiced bread and Josper Honey'd Salmon, invoking a variety of Middle Eastern flavours.
