Blank Canvas is an all new independent restaurant that will be opening in The Printworks in May. The twist? It will completely change its appearance four times a year.
The 160-cover restaurant is taking over the site formerly occupied by Busuba Eathai, and will feature wooden panels lining the walls that can be chopped and changed regularly on the ground floor. This will then give guests the chance to experience a different theme or look when they visit, sort of like a never-ending pop-up as described by owner Joe Bolger. Meanwhile, the upper level of Blank Canvas will be a lounge bar, decorated with vintage fixtures, street art and indoor plants to create an urban feel.
The menu will be equally adaptable, with fresh, seasonal dishes and a focus on simple yet effective crowd-pleasing classics such as burgers, salads and soul food. It also seems that Blank Canvas will specialise in freakshakes, which are sure to make for some cracking Instagram content, as well as avant-garde cocktails made with smoke and fire right at the table.
