Look away nans everywhere - Chish & Fips is putting a new spin on the traditional chippy, and things are set to get spicy.
Swapping beer batter for Japanese-inspired tempura, sausages for salmon and mushy peas for edamame, £10 fish boxes will be served with special shichimi chilli spice sprinkles and homemade peanut and miso sauce.
This Mirabel Street restaurant is the latest reincarnation of the ever-popular sushi spot Umezushi. Run by the same team, this new fishy offering will see the same high-quality fares served this time in newspaper (read: eco-friendly boxes) as opposed to atop fancy ceramics.
Ketchup lovers everywhere need not panic though, whether you’re looking for a quick cod and chips grab-and-go option or a veggie-friendly feast of aubergine tempura and halloumi fries, there will be dollops of homemade tomato sauce and mayo to dunk until your heart’s content (try and tarnish the scallops with the red stuff though, and we may never forgive you.)
