With a motto ‘cheap drinks, always’, The Shady Lady is a girl after our own heart. Found in Fitzroy, the affordable Melbourne bar is one of the quirkiest around, with neon signs, a luxurious teal interior, and salad bowls doubling up as tasselled lampshades. Head past the grand oak bar and there’s a small beer garden - though move quickly, those picnic benches fill up quickly.
Drinks are, as promised, a budget-friendly bunch that range from martinis and dark ‘n’ stormies to frozen margaritas. If you’re looking to get the party started ahead of one of their DJ or karaoke nights, the beer-shot combos will get you in the dancing mood.
