The King Street bar recently took over the Melbourne Steamship Co. building, its former life still evident from grand staircases and huge ceilings, with sparkling chandeliers and walls decorated with newspaper adding to the sense of history.
We recommend working top to bottom, starting with sunset drinks overlooking the Melbourne skyline on the spacious upstairs terrace. When it gets chilly, head down to the smart dining room for more freshly muddled cocktails and hearty plates. Still got energy? It’s downstairs to the snug basement den, with antique armchairs and punchy whisky concoctions combining for a hefty nightcap.
