Just when you thought the Diamond Strip couldn't get any better, Manahatta goes and blows that all out of the water. This New York-inspired bar will add to the glam of Collingwood Street after years in the making, building on the success of its sister venues on Leeds' Greek Street and Merrion Street. Although details are thin on the ground at this stage, we can assume the watering hole will boast many of the loft-style interiors that make it so popular elsewhere, including funky neon lights, exposed brick walls, and a choice of stool seating or comfy booths.
But, it's not just looks that are the draw here. Bringing a slice of the Big Apple to Newcastle, Manahatta's drinks list and food offerings also follow the theme; think Central Park spritzes or a classic old fashioned to have alongside your American plates of loaded dogs, burgers and bagels. Plus, there's always the option to munch on bottomless brunch or delve into their £6 lunch menu, with 2 for 1 happy hours to boot.
