Description
One for film buffs and fans of British cinema, the Victoria Comet had a starring role alongside Michael Caine in the classic gangster movie Get Carter – it’s the pub that his character visits when first arriving in Newcastle and where he orders a drink in a “thin glass”.
Today, you’re much more likely to find far friendlier customers and staff all enjoying the atmosphere and history of this iconic Newcastle pub, which is centrally located and just over the road from the busy Newcastle train station and just a short walk from the River Tyne. To the north you’ll find the city’s bustling Chinatown, while the Life Science Centre, St Mary’s Heritage Centre and Newcastle College are all nearby.
You’ll enjoy choosing from traditional British pub food, and a wide range of cask ales, wines and spirits.
