Blackfriars Restaurant

Description

Blackfriars Restaurant is a sophisticated venue located in the heart of Newcastle, housed in a 13th century friary - making it one of the oldest purpose-built eateries in the whole of the UK.

They serve hearty British meals using only the finest seasonal produce, curating both modern and medieval-inspired menus which can be enjoyed all day long. As for drinks, they boast a spectacular range of quality wines and Champagnes, as well as several kinds of locally brewed beer and a long list of premium spirits.

Not only can you eat some delicious dishes here, but you can learn to make them too. Blackfriars run regular cooking classes in their independent culinary school, where you can enjoy a relaxed session and elevate your cooking skills. But that's not all that's on offer at this charming destination, they host frequent drinks tastings, historical food tours and seasonal events throughout the year.

And if you're throwing your own event? There's tons of private space available, from the banquet hall to intimate dining rooms, and they're also able to host weddings, parties, Christenings and more.
