Nestled between the Lady Bay tennis club and Bowling Green the Poppy, a former British Legion, has become a firm favourite amongst the Lady Bay community and visitors alike, with its warm welcoming atmosphere, fantastic food and friendly staff. This unique venue has a strong reputation for high standards and service, offering individually tailored packages, catering to your every need no matter what the event.

The Poppy and Pint comprises three distinct areas: the Poppy café bar, traditional bar and dining room, which offer something for everyone,.With tastes and budgets in mind we serve some of the best food in Nottingham created by Vanessa McGuire and her team. You’ll find an extensive range of local and National ales. Traditional ciders sit alongside continental draught and bottled beers, fine wines, spirits and liqueurs.

With our large car park we are ideally located for the National Water Sports Centre, City ground and Trent Bridge cricket ground. Popular with walkers and cyclists, being bounded by the Grantham Canal, River Trent and Holme Pierrepont. The Poppy regularly hosts live music by local performers in the bar along with our monthly club meets and concerts in the function room by the Poppy Folk club and the West Bridgford Jazz club.

The versatile spacious function room is perfect for weddings, birthday parties, wakes and we also have comprehensive conferencing facilities for up to 100 people. Not only is the room available for private hire but it is home to a wide array of regular events and weekly activities such as Zumba, Yoga, dance and exercise classes.

The cafe bar is the perfect place to have a coffee and cake, open from 9.30 am we also serve breakfast every day until 12 noon.  Children are warmly welcomed, with highchairs, changing facilities and children’s menu. Poppy Seeds, our mother and baby group meet every Wednesday morning and there are also a number of baby focused groups such as Mama Baby Bliss, Baby Sensory and Sing and Sign happening every week.
