Lulu La Delizia

Located on the oh-so trendy Rokeby Road in Subiaco, Lulu La Delizia is one of the best restaurants in Perth. Named after the chef’s nonna, Luigia Valvasori, the restaurant pays tribute to the culinary traditions she brought to Australia from her hometown in Friuli. With this, they serve you authentic Italian dishes, made with precise, specialist skill.

While keeping with the stylish neighbourhood, the restaurant also gives a nod to its ancestral home, featuring modest European decor. This includes simple, wooden chairs and tables and vintage pictures on the walls, with people spilling into the street for alfresco dining when the sun comes out.

Like all good Italian restaurants, the menu is small, but drool-worthy. Their selection of small bites, or ‘delights’ as they call them, showcases saffron and gin-cured hiramasa kingfish, and a classic dish of nonna’s meatballs. The piece de resistance is, of course, the pasta. Dig into plates such as the tagliatelle della delizia, made of veal, pork, vegetables and a red wine ragu.
