What they say:
Located in the lively Camden Passage, this is the second branch for Brother Marcus, following on from the debut restaurant in Balham. After a series of quirky dining experiences and one-off supperclubs, this permanent Angel spot is now offering the chance to sample evening dishes with a Cretan twist. Walk-in for a casual meal, or book the 12-strong semi-private dining room for an uninterrupted boozy brunch.
What we say:
If you're a north London dweller who winces at the thought of venturing south, get ready to sink your teeth into Balham's best Cretan-inspired dishes. Taking over the space which was formerly Elk in the Woods, the menu here is well-prepped to cater to meat-eaters and vegans alike. Favourite dishes include the Step Sister; a sweet potato, courgette and feta fritters with avo, spinach and kale, topped with turmeric yoghurt and a perfectly poached egg. Alternatively, head here in the evening and enjoy a feast of Mediterranean-inspired dishes alongside cocktails like the Balkan Whip; rye whiskey, ouzo, red apple and egg white, as well as, a wine list specially focused on Greek varieties.
