Sheffield Round Walk - Section 1 (4 Miles)
After rambles near the city centre? Let us break down the Sheffield Round Walk map for you. Mowgli awaits near the entrance of Endcliffe Park, where you can fill up on Indian food before tackling the popular first section. This goes past the Shepherd Wheel in Whiteley Woods and Porter Valley's Wire Mill Dam, with the Porter Brook Trail car park as the finishing point. The loop then continues through Limb, Sheaf and Gleadless Valley if you fancy taking on the full 15-mile route.
Sheffield Canal Walk (3 Miles)
The Sheffield Canal Walk is ideal for getting both your outdoor and industrial history fix. Kick off at the start of Sheffield & Tinsley Canal in Castlegate, before taking the towpath north-east past 19th century warehouses, Grade II listed bridges and aqueducts, and the largest installation of the city's street art trail on your journey to Tinsley Marina. Once you've come back again to Victoria Quays, check out the nearby Meltdown for gaming galore.
Five Weirs Walk Sheffield (4.5 Miles)
Make your way to Lady's Bridge for the start of the lovely Five Weirs Walk - a route that stretches along the River Don, with only occasional diversions from the riverbank, to Meadowhall shopping centre. At this mid-point, you'll find YO! Sushi delving out Japanese treats on a cool conveyor belt. After lunch here, return on the same path or opt for a canalside stroll to circle back to the city centre.
Longshaw, Owler Tor And Padley Gorge (3 Miles)
The route from Longshaw to Owler Tor and Padley Gorge starts at the National Trust visitor centre, continuing past the estate's pond and Granby Wood. Next, keep the stunning Owler Tor on your left while you circle around to follow the west boundary wall of Lawrence Field in a southerly direction. Cross into the ancient woodland and take the Padley Gorge path back up towards Granby Wood. Once at the café again, you can also tag on a 2-mile ramble through Longshaw meadows and Burbage Brook moorlands - just keep to the pink waymarkers.
Frogatt, Curbar and White Edge Circular Walk (6 Miles)
In need of short Peak District walks near Sheffield? The Frogatt, Curbar and White Edge circular route has you covered with picturesque moorland across all three sights. Get going at Curbar Gap car park and head east until you hit the well-trodden, northerly path of White Edge. Look out for red deer across Big Moor to the right while you stroll, then turn left at the hole in the wall to make your way to the start of Froggatt and Curbar Edges.
Holly Hagg Community Farm Alpaca Trekking (Various Short Distances)
For something a little different from your usual ramble, check out Holly Hagg Community Farm Alpaca Trekking. You'll hand-feed a new pal from the herd and then go for an hour walk alongside trained guides. Rivelin Valley Trail also runs along the river and glen nearby for more outdoor action once you're done with your furry friends. Or, if you want a meal afterwards instead, head to No Name just a short distance away in Crookes.
