Neepsend Social Club & Canteen is a modern take on the British social club smack bang in the middle of Neepsend and Kelham Island. Taking inspiration from the 1970s heyday of the social club, this place is wall-to-wall nostalgia with vinyl patterned floors, wood cladding and maroon stage curtains. Their beer garden is perfect for those Summer afternoons drinking craft beers in the sun but the place comes to life in the evening with cosy lighting and soft seating creating that real lounge feeling. Perfect for a quick bite at lunch, after-work drinks, footy on the telly, darts with friends or grooving to classic tunes on the dancefloor late at night under the glitterball - get yer 70s on.
In keeping with the theme, local street food legends 'The Gravy Train Poutine' are serving up fried chicken in a basket alongside their Canadian classic poutine of seasoned fries, cheese curds and gravy as well as smashed burgers, pastrami sandwiches and an absolutely cracking Sunday lunch that is guaranteed to hit the spot.

For the uninitiated poutine is a Canadian cult classic consisting of skin-on seasoned fries, cheddar cheese curds and bangin' gravy - then there's the toppings, BBQ chicken, mapled bacon, soured cream or why not try one of their newest specials? Currently 'The Seoul' is a big hit - classic poutine with Korean fried chicken, gochujang mayo, kimchi, spring onion & sesame seeds. Alongside what they are famous for they have also added some other big hitters to their menu, think buttermilk fried chicken, smashed burgers, smoked pastrami sandwiches, kimchi fritters, hot wings and deep fried cheese curds with chilli jam with loads of vegan and veggie alternatives available too. Sunday's the boys kock out top notch roast dinners with all the trimmings - why? Because GRAVY. Grab a dessert whilst you're at it, hot fudge sundaes and fried apple pie for the win.
