We’ve all heard of the ‘Karen’, right? The privileged, argumentative persona that always wants to talk to the manager. Well, introducing Karen’s Diner in the CBD, which embodies the meme by encouraging you to vent your anger on their hilariously rude staff, making for a brilliant yet bizarre meal out. You can winge, complain and moan 'til your heart's content and the waiters will play along, firing back with their best insults and even the odd sing-song.
While the service stinks, the food couldn’t be more different. The pop-up promises top-quality grub, with a varied selection of US-style burgers, wings, loaded fries, onion rings and more. There’s also plenty of veggie options, although you might get an earful if you ask. As for drinks? Check out their eyebrow-raising list of signature cocktails, with highlights including the indulgent Nutty Karen, made up of vodka, peanut butter, ice cream mix, chocolate syrup and Reese’s Pieces. Alongside these barmy concoctions, you’ll find draught beers, tinnies, wines, milkshakes and shooters.
Karen's Diner is open from from Wednesday to Sunday between 12pm - 10pm. You can find it at World Square, Unit 6, Level 1/644 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000. If you're on the hunt for more unusual things to do in Sydney, read our jam-packed list of quirky activities here.
