Culture vultures, this one's for you. The Biennale Of Sydney, Australia's largest festival of contemporary art, is back again for its 50th anniversary. Taking place at The Arts Exchange on Hickson Road, the world-renowned event has announced its vision 'Ten Thousand Suns' and the first 39 artists who will be showcasing across various locations in Sydney from March to June 2024.
Held every two years and completely free to experience, this public exhibition is set to feature work from the likes of New Jersey-born Adebunmi Gbadebo, Salvador's Alberto Pitta, and contemporary Balinese artist Citra Sasmita just to name a few.
Artistic Directors Cosmin Costinaș and Inti Guerrero said: “Next year’s Biennale works across time periods, beyond the borders separating cultural practices rooted in different genealogies, and from all continents." So, expect cool spaces, immersive displays and visuals that recognise migrants and First Nations communities.
The Biennale of Sydney is open to the public from the 9th March to 10th June 2024 at The Arts Exchange, 10 Hickson Road, Sydney, 2000. If you like this, check out our guide to what's on in Sydney and sign up for our future newsletter.
