Here's one hot update for you: Fred Siriex and the whole First Dates show are packing up and moving to Bath in what is set to be a match made in heaven Somerset.
You heard that right, the BAFTA award-winning series is marking 10 years of bringing people together by announcing a new location at The Botanist Bath, having previously been filmed at The Anthologist in Manchester. And what a beaut it is. You can’t help but fall in love with the Grade II listed Octagon, decked out in plants, white pendant lights and grand traditional interiors. The swoon-factor doesn’t stop there; it’s rumoured that Jane Austen herself once stopped by its previous incarnation as a chapel.
Couples will be able to get their graft on while they tuck into hanging kebabs in the intimate secret garden, or perhaps meet eyes over a sun-drenched bottomless brunch this summer.
Awkward silences, food in your teeth, clumsily spilling a drink over: we’ve all had our fair share of dating disasters. But will Bath, recently voted the most romantic city in the UK, help the lovelorn public? You’ll just have to wait and see.
