The lido was built in 1903, when it was first used as a ladies-only swimming pool.
When the UK manages to bag a bit of sun, you best believe the people will want to be out in it. But if you live in London or in one of the more suburban areas, then a good sunbathing spot near a body of water is few and far between.
But don't worry, we might have found your new go-to sunny day spot - and its only at the end of the Elizabeth Line. Here's everything you need to know about Thames Lido Bar and Restaurant.
Thames Lido Bar And Restaurant
What Is Thames Lido?
Reading's worst kept secret has been swooping its way across social media, and for very good reason. This ultimate relaxation hotspot includes a gorgeous 12-metre outdoor swimming pool, which is always kept at 24-26 degrees, as well as a sauna, steam room and hot tub.
Better yet, there's even a restaurant on site so you can make a full day of it. They serve breakfast from 9am to 10.45am which includes some delicious brunch favourites, including granola, hot smoked salmon, crushed avocado and poached eggs - name a better way to start the day, we'll wait.
And if you're after a poolside retreat on a Tuesday, bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy with a main meal. You can even go all out and enjoy a massage after a day of swimming and sunbathing. It's a hard life.
