The Peacock at Rowsley has been a hotel since the 1830s. This luxury Peak District hotel began life as a manor house in the late 1600s and has been a beacon of hospitality ever since. Located in the beautiful Peak District National Park, the hotel is an ideal base from which to explore and discover all that the area has to offer.

As an independent Peak District hotel we strive to provide exceptional service, food and comfort.

We have fifteen bedrooms, from cosy single rooms to bedrooms with four poster beds and a luxurious suite; an award winning fine dining restaurant to amaze the taste buds; a very popular private dining room which is perfect for special occasions; a cosy atmospheric bar with fine wines, local real ales, a cocktail menu and a freshly cooked local food offering; a beautiful river fronted garden designed by Arne Maynard; access to dry fly fishing on the Haddon Estate; exclusive guided tours and discounted admission to neighbouring Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House.

Gastronomy sits at the core of our hotel. Our restaurant team are the proud bearers of three AA rosettes. The key behind each dish is our high-quality, seasonal and local quality ingredients, which our Head Chef Dan Smith is passionate about.
