Just a 10-minute walk from Oxford Station, The Chequers is a conveniently located and traditionally British pub with spacious interiors, a large outdoor seating area, and a separate dining room that can be reserved for parties and events.
Steeped in history, much of the pub’s interior dates from the 1500s, when an old tenement building was rebuilt as a tavern. In the 1800s, it was home strange and exotic animals discovered by explorers, as well as some of the greatest technological minds marvels of the age!
Today, the pub serves up the finest local cask ales and traditional British dishes. Or if you prefer spirits, you’ll find a great selection behind the bar.
With so many must-visit locations on the doorstep, including Sheldonian Theatre, the Pitt Rivers Museum, and Radcliff Camera, it’s the ideal place to stop and enjoy a comfy seat while you’re exploring Oxford.
