Chapter One

A two Michelin-starred restaurant on Parnell Square, Chapter One can be found in the former home of the Jameson founder. The basement space is decorated in a modern, minimal fashion, with exposed brick walls, dark wooden furnishings and a well-stocked marble bar. This venue is run by Finnish chef Mickael Viljanen and Irish chef Ross Lewis, using French culinary techniques and the freshest of produce to create their masterpieces.

They use local ingredients wherever possible, and much of their decor is sourced from the nearby area too. They offer a four-course dinner for €160, as well as lunch and tasting menu options - with dishes ranging from Dover sole in a yuzu and bergamot sauce to organic salmon tartare and chocolate souffle with black cardamom.

Mr Fox

A collaboration between chef Anthony Smith and the team behind The Pig's Ear, Mr Fox is a contemporary Irish restaurant on Parnell Square that's been around since 2016. Recommended in the Michelin Guide, you can expect modern dishes with a French influence, in a stylish venue that flaunts exposed brickwork and period features.

They serve a regularly changing seasonal set menu for €93 per person, with a vegetarian version available upon request. Enjoy 12 sumptuous courses of fine dining, featuring the likes of blue fin with crispy rice, parmesan fondue and duck with roasted peach and fennel.

Marrakesh By Mindo

A restaurant and karaoke bar rolled into one, Marrakesh By Mindo is located on Capel Street. This unique venue is slinging out Moroccan food seven days a week, as well as hosting belly dancing sessions, jazz shows and all sorts of other fun events. As for the interiors, expect exposed brick walls, wooden tables and shelves stacked full of wine.

Their Executive Chef Aziz was born and raised in Marrakesh, and he's now brining authentic flavours right to the heart of Dublin. Tuck into tasty bites like marinated chicken skewers, homemade falafel and lightly fired tiger prawns, with a wide variety of wines to wash it all down.

Musashi

Musashi has got multiple locations across the city, and their Capel Street venue is one of the most popular. They specialise in authentic Japanese and Thai flavours, with talented chefs who use traditional methods to prepare their mouthwatering meals.

Munch on the likes of cucumber nigiri, salmon sashimi and vegetable gyoza, to name just a few of their plates. Plus, you can even find dishes for under a fiver here - perfect if you're after affordable restaurants in Dublin 1.

Ryleigh’s Rooftop Restaurant

If you're looking for rooftop restaurants in Dublin 1, it doesn't get much better than Ryleigh's. This sleek, modern venue overlooks Dublin Bay, Dun Laoghaire and the iconic Poolbeg Pier, and the outdoor terrace is perfect for summer date nights and capturing those Instagrammable views.

They specialise in classic grill dishes, with a menu that features lots of 100% Irish beef, from tomahawk steaks to pork chops. You'll also find veggie options like wild mushroom gnocchi, with breakfast and brunch options available too.

Yamamori

These restaurants are popular all over the city, and their Dublin 1 location is no exception. Their signature 'Japas' cuisine is inspired by tapas plates, but using using Japanese delicacies, including bluefin tuna sashimi, softshell crab tempura, deep-fried tofu in soy sauce and much more.

This venue is fun combination between modernity and tradition, pairing an old-fashioned venue with Japanese artwork and samurai artefacts. As well as the delicious eats, you'll find plenty of cocktails, sake and wine here.

Brother Hubbard North

Head over to Capel Street to discover Brother Hubbard North, a friendly Middle eastern restaurant serving brunch right through to dinner every day of the week. They put a modern twist on classic recipes, in a lively venue that's always got a great atmosphere.

Their morning menu offers everything from Georgian-style sourdough topped with eggs and halloumi to homemade lemon and vanilla brioche. As for dinner? Expect roasted pumpkin with labneh, Turkish courgette stew, lamb loin stuffed with feta and more.
