The Glasgow Festival of Burlesque

The Glasgow Festival of Burlesque is hosting two brilliant events this month, taking place at the Polo Lounge & Riding Rooms in merchant City and the Britannia Panopticon on Trongate. Expect mesmerising cabaret and burlesque performances from local and UK-wide performers, with amazing outfits and impressive routines. Tickets start from as little as £7 per person, and both sessions promise hours of entertainment.

Fancy getting a little competitive? Then check out the brunch socials at Flight Club, taking place every single weekend. You'll get to enjoy an entire bottle of prosecco per person, while munching on unlimited paddles of pizza to share with your pals throughout the two-hour session. You'll spend the first half of your time on their electronic dartboards, trying out their fun, interactive minigames, before toasting to the winner in their pretty, fairground-themed bar afterwards.

Glasgow Fun Puzzle Treasure Hunt! Single route or double for racing!

If you're looking for something to do outdoors as a group this month, the Glasgow Fun Puzzle Treasure Hunt has got you covered with their quest that takes you all over the city. You'll solve clues and conquer challenges along the way, discovering some of the city's best landmarks and hidden gems as you go. As for your prize? The final destination is a pub, where you'll receive 20% off your food and drink bill.

Slow Dating

On the hunt for that special someone? Slow Dating is hosting a bunch of singles events at fun locations like Bar Soba and The Alchemist. You'll have the chance to meet a bunch of like-minded folk in four-minute mini-dates.

Sloans

In a building that dates back to 1797, Sloans is a pretty stunning space to attend some fantastic events - spread across three floors and drenched in tradition. Their EatFilm sessions take place on a regular basis, showing a classic movie while you munch on popcorn and a tasty main course - costing just £20 which includes a drink. They also host a Friday night ceilidh every single week, compete with a live band, alongside Sunday roast comedy afternoons and even the Scottish macaroni appreciation club.

R&B Brunch GLASGOW

For a fun, daytime event, look no further than R&B Brunch Glasgow. Entry to the four-hour event costs just £20 per person, including bottomless rum punch from 12 to 1pm. Expect all the best RnB, hip hop and dancehall tunes from their DJ, with delicious street food available from host venue Corset Club too. There'll also be a talented host to get the party going, promising non-stop fun.

Maggie's Rock N Rodeo

For some of the most unique events in the city, head to Maggie's in Merchant City. This quirky spot is inspired by the dive bars of Nashville, with an all-American menu of food and cocktails, as well as a mechanical rodeo bull. They host a cowboy-themed ceilidh every Friday and Saturday for just £8 per person, complete with live country music, or head to the saucier, late-night cowboy strip show instead. You'll also find Hoedown karaoke here on Sundays, alongside line dancing lessons each Tuesday.

Old Skool BINGO Glasgow

For an unmissable evening of classic RnB and all kinds of entertaining games, check out Old Skool Bingo at Manuka. There'll be a DJ spinning all the best tunes from the 80s, 90s and 2000s, as well as a high-energy MC host to get the party started. They'll be putting a modern twist on the classic bingo game, with crazy challenges, dance competitions and cracking prizes on the cards. Tickets start from just £18 per person, or you can secure a discount on group bookings.

ARTÀ

For a slinky slice of the Mediterranean in Merchant City, shimmy on over to ARTA. While a top spot for drinking and dining, it also hosts a mega lineup of events, including laugh-out-loud comedy nights and hilarious drag shows, paired with tapas and sangria.

The Social

Located in the heart of Merchant City, The Social is a gorgeous bar filled with greenery and golden decor. They've got a brilliant lineup of events taking place this month, including a Paul Smith Pre-Party where you can get your hands on three small plates and a cocktail for just £20. The Stickmen Project are also playing here in August, playing house music in their all-black outfits, lit up by LED lights to create a stunning visual performance too. You can also attend their weekly Friday and Saturday night parties for free, promising great tunes and even better drinks.

SpeedDater

Ah summer, it really is the season of romance, isn't it? And now's better than ever to meet that special someone, with help from SpeedDater. It's hosting a load of different singles events in Glasgow this August. Pop along to have a drink and, you know, maybe meet the love of your life.

Glasgow: Walking Adventure & Interactive Treasure Hunt

You'll get to see the city in a whole new way when you set off on an interactive treasure hunt with Go Quest Adventures. This self-guided walking tour will take you all over Glasgow's Merchant City area, unlocking clues and completing challenges along a hidden trail to solve the puzzle. You'll learn plenty of fun facts about this place while you're searching, and their helpful app lets you take part in this game any time you like - and you might even top the leaderboard if you're quick.

The Corset Club

Nestled inside Glasgow's historic Jacobean Corsetry building, The Corset Club is a lively bar that celebrates diversity, acting as a hotspot for the LGBTQ+ community. They host fantastic drag shows on a regular basis, with tickets to their events starting from as little as £10 per person, as well as live music performances every Saturday and symphonic serenades from talented queen Sally on Tuesdays. And if you head there on Monday, they showcase debut acts from Glasgow and beyond, from mesmerising cabaret to amazing singers.

Moskito Cocktail Bar & Restaurant

Located on Bath Street, Moskito Cocktail Bar & Restaurant is a stylish venue filled with stunning artwork, floral displays and low lighting to create a sultry, intimate vibe. They're hosting a number of brilliant brunch events this month, themed around everything from Mamma Mia to RuPaul's Drag Race. You'll get to enjoy two themed cocktails and a tasty brunch dish for as little as £25, and some of their events even double as a quiz so you won't be short of entertainment here either.
