What they say:
The men behind The Hoxton Pony and Wringer & Mangle are going all bird-like for their new Shoreditch opening. The Holy Birds on Middlesex Street will be creating organic dishes from meats such as grouse, wood pigeon, pheasant and quail using a wood-fired BBQ. Spread across two floors which are comprised of a basement cocktail bar and groundfloor restaurant, the venue will have a '60s theme with psychedelic interiors and a cocktail menu that isn't shy to splash the Babycham.
What we say:
We're expecting big things from The Holy Birds; firstly, it's got a cracking location in East London (always a win). Secondly, co-founder Gerry Calabrese has described it as a 'posh Nandos' only with better quality and varied meats - already successful in our eyes. Then there's the '60s theme that will be prevalent through their choice of interiors and, more importantly, the cocktail list which is curated by their father and cocktail bigwig, Salvatore Calabrese - winner, winner, chicken dinner.
